No. Not a revamp or a relaunch; just a re-introduction.
Back in the day, all the way back in 2020, we were call Armoured Essentials for one week.
We’ve come a long way since then.
We have a better name – thankfully, we came to our senses and are now called The H Word – great products and an amazing audience.
Last year we underwent a two-month long revamp and relaunched in August 2022. Honestly, we had WWF becoming WWE aspirations, no ‘F’s’ included.
We came through it with a new look and a wider product range.
This year we realised that, while we had relaunched our satin hair care business and expanded to include a hair and skin product range, we had not reintroduced ourselves.
Many of the people we meet and talk to or who know us through social media, know that there are two women behind The H Word but they may not know the people behind the brand.
So here it is; The H Word: A Re-Introduction.
Nwabisa

Allow me to reintroduce myself… It’s your girl B! Legally known as Nwabisa Msizi. I am no longer just a hair enthusiast. This year, I am also a hair and skin business owner.
Typing that felt crazy.
What started out as a whatsapp conversation between myself and my friend over time turned into what you know today as THE H WORD.
Now that you know my name let me give you some rapid personal facts about me:
- I’m 1.7m tall (some say 1.69m but that’s not in my ministry)
- I was raised by a Xhosa mom and a Zulu dad. (Clash of the clans, I know)
- I am qualified in the field of Civil Engineering and Business Management. (Talk about a high pain tolerance).
My dream this year is to expand The H Word and evolve it into a brand that you trust and can add to your staples list. I hope each of you has a dream or goal for 2023. I also hope that you achieve it or atleast take one step closer towards it.
Khrystyne

I’m Khrystyne. And I am terrible at celebrating things. Even small things.
When The H Word was called/texted/voicenoted into being, I remember going, “Okay, I’m in ”, after Nwabisa pitched the idea. I think she expected me to think about it for longer than 0.2 seconds, because the silence on the other end was loud.
And here we are, two years through, still learning and remembering to celebrate all our triumphs, big and small.
Three things about me:
- I don’t like being in front of the camera, which is why Nwabisa is the face of The H Word.
- I recently cut most of my hair off.
- I am a Unisa alumni and it was this institute that taught me how to write threatening emails and also how to not let go of an issue even if all emails and phone calls go unanswered for 2 months.
This year, I hope we can provide greater value to our customers and audience and I hope we can expand our ranges of satinwear and skin and hair care products.
May 2023 be a better year for us all.
When we’re not working on The H Word, we both have full time jobs in other fields.
That’s all folks.
Well, there’ll probably be TikTok live streams soon, showing more of us business partners in action.
Until then, please look out for all the things we have planned for you; Sales, promotions, new products and more.

I feel like we all had the same bedding in the 90’s. Lol. Who sent out this memo and why did we all comply??
